Joel Kuether in The Granary

January 25, 2019 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Joel Kuether started out his musical endeavors at the age of 8 years old. His father, Fredrick Kuether, who was an accomplished musician, taught Joel the piano and shortly after that Joel took up the guitar. At the age 16, Joel was playing professionally in night clubs with the consent of his parents. At the age of 18, Joel traveled extensively full-time from Los Angeles to New York. Joel has played with the members of Iron Butterfly, Wishbone Ash, The Spencer Davis Group and opened for such acts as Cheap Trick, Danny and the Juniors, The Knack, REO Speed Wagon, Black Oak Arkansas, Tommy James and the Shondells, The Rascals and many more.
Forming the Joel Kuether Trio, Joel brings his own blend of style to the band, which is now very successful. Soloing also keeps Joel very busy as he composes his own arrangements of today’s classics and originals by playing his acoustic electric guitar with a jazz/blues type of sound to the songs.
Joel uses a technique with his guitar called “looping” that creates an illusion of more than one guitar giving the performance a full sound. Joel also uses an electronic kick drum and a high hat to give it rhythm. Joel got the idea from watching documentaries of street musicians in New York City.
Joel’s unique sound is like no other in the area; he is very creative on the guitar and vocals and truly enjoys entertaining his audiences and it is a performance that you will enjoy and will want to see again.
